LaCie - Carte Orange - USB 2.0

Okay, this is turning into gadget Sunday. However, this credit card sized hard drive from LaCie, powered by the USB interface, is too cool to pass up. the Carte Orange (French for "Orange Card", but it sounds much cooler in French) has been out since December, and comes in 4 and 8 Gigabyte versions. $149.95 for 8 gigs of storage in a credit card sized drive...amazing. This is one of those peripherals that has a wow factor, as well as being suitable for storing programs and data that enable you to take your files with you, and run them from any computer anywhere. I am going to load up with WordPerfect, Firefox Mobile, and Thunderbird Mobile, and see how it works. Fun, fun, fun.

Yeah 8 GB on a USB attached card is awesome! Absolutely no excuse for not backing up now, but then again backups have always been more a question of discipline than storage...still this makes it easier, especially if you are on the road.
