The Korea Times : Courts Test Internet Trials - Trial by Blog?
Link: The Korea Times : Courts Test Internet Trials.
Okay, I want this in the U.S. Korea is toying with the idea of conducting some trials by blog posting. I would love to file Motions and pleadings and to make oral argument in my blog. Korea, with a 70% Internet penetration, one of the largest in the world, plans to allow parties to submit evidence, legal documents and other data on Weblogs to be operated by the Court. Decisions will also be announced online. Why aren't we using our technology like this in the U.S.? I can't even get the Courts to use Webcams for Motion hearings. Judge Kim Sang-Jun of the Seoul Administration Court believes that Internet based trials will help public understanding of the legal system. We have Court TV over here, why not Internet based trials? Just wondering...

I don't think there is much interest in the U.S. in educating the masses on the law, or anything else. We prefer that the masses remain in the dark, more easily persuaded that way!
However, the masses are not asking anyone's permission to use the Internet, and this fact will probably change law, medicine and other professions. It has already transformed journalism, as you well know since you are part of the transformation.
The "revolution" will not be televised, it will not ask for permission, it will simply use the Internet to continue to transform, until what is left of the industrial age professions will be a distant memory...
