Part of the problem is my affinity for the keyboard, having been brought up in a world of typewriters. However, this space in the software world has always been occupied by less than satisfactory software, and my recent experience trying to install and use Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 was a disaster. Well, this column chronicles my ultimate success, and, if you are contemplating installing and using Dragon, is worth a read. You need more than the minimum processor Nuance recommends, and don't expect them to help you out if you get into trouble. The software is worth it, once it is installed, however, and, if you like to dictate, this is the way to go. Now, go out and kill that dragon.
