As you know, if you are a long time reader, I use my Treo for dictation, which I then email to my secretary for transcription. She hates it, because I can now annoy her from long distances. I love it, because I can get messages to her from anywhere, and can dictate memos or letters or whatever. I toyed around with mobile dictation software that did the transcription, but accuracy was a problem, so I quit. What if sending transcribed memos or notes was as easy as picking up the cell phone or telephone? Enter a new free beta called Jott. Remember that name, because I predict that professionals (lawyers?) will be using this service all the time. Just call Jott's toll free number, speak your message, and Jott will trancribe it and email it to you. Sweet, simple, and utterly addictive. Jottcasting, jottmumbling, whatever you call it, it is cool, cool, cool.

I had quite an experience the first time I used Jott to communicate with a client. I started out "Hi David, ummm, just wanted to let you know . . . ." Jott transcribed it as "Hi David, I love you, just wanted to let you know . . . ." It's a good thing Jott sends the audio file as well! (It's also a good thing that David is very understanding.)

Great post! I have been Jotting for a while now. When I am out on the road and need to send a reminder to myself or to someone else it is so easy now. Another thing you might want to check out is Sandy. You can send her e-mails and she will send you reminders.
Virtually,
