Do laptops charge faster when turned off?

Link: Do laptops charge faster when turned off? : Christopher Null : Yahoo! Tech.Question_mark_sign_uid In the category of "who really cares, but we would like to know", this post asks the burning question of the day, Do laptops charge faster when turned off?" I know, compared to global warming and the next President, it is a small thing; however, given that laptops have been exploding lately, inquiring minds want to know. As with most questions, the answer seems to be "it depends". Of course, charging will occur faster when there isn't a load on the battery already. If you, like me, keep the laptop plugged in most of the time, this shouldn't be an issue.

I keep my laptop plugged in, since I use wireless, either Visual Studio or Dreamweaver, and some Office apps at the same time. However, I always remove the battery for long-term plug ins, since keeping the battery in while plugged in can kill the battery life.
