Just the other day, we were having a discussion about the 2 GB EyeFi card, that contains WiFi capability to send photos directly from a digital camera to a computer connected to a WiFi local network. Only problem is that it costs $100. I opined that, since I could get a regular SD card for around $20, the $80 premium was a lot to pay in order to avoid taking the SD card out of the camera and inserting it into a USB reader or SD slot on the computer. Well, I was wrong. You can now get a 2 GB SD card from CompUSA for 8 bucks. Just how lazy do you have to be to pay a premium of $92 to avoid taking a little card out of the camera and inserting it in a computer?

It might be useful for pros at live events who want to publish their photos as they are taken? Such as at a sports event, press briefing or awards ceremony. One person shoots, the other on a laptop uploads.

the CompUSA store in Clearwater has quickly become a new toy store for me. I recently got an email from TigerDirect.com (same parent company as the new CompUSA) asking why I hadn't bought anything online recently!
