Palm Discontinues Extended battery for Centro - But, Sprint Picks Up The Slack

Link: Palm discontinues external battery for Centro -> TamsPalm - the Palm OS Blog.Sprintextendedcentrobattery I carry a spare battery for my Centro, since I am often using it for watching TV using SlingBox software, and the standard battery goes after a couple of hours of continuous use. Most days, when I am not watching a baseball game or other program, my standard Palm battery lasts through the day; especially, since it is in a charging cradle while I am home or at work. I was initially disappointed, then, when I saw this announcement. However, cruising over to the Sprint site, I found an extended battery and replacement cover, at the official Sprint site. Wassup, Palm? Is this story a false positive? Is Palm recalling the extended batteries? Why? In the meantime, I am glad Sprint has my back.
