Lieberman Asks, Why Are Court Docs Still Behind Paid Firewall? | Threat Level from Wired.com. Thanks to TechDirt for the heads up on this interesting correspondence from Joe Lieberman to the Judicial Conference of the U.S. Why, oh, why, is the Federal Government charging 8 cents per page for public documents that should be available to the public free? Additionally, why is confidential data showing up in Court documents served through Pacer? Good questions. I am sure that Google would be happy to provide access for free.
