Rocket Matter: Online Legal Practice Management and Time & Billing Software. Legal SaaS. Web-based software solution for your law firm.. I have been a harsh critic of cloud computing for legal matter management and billing for some years. I have given Larry Port, of RocketMatter, a hard time for a couple of years, as I questioned some basic assumptions of the cloud computing paradigm. Larry, a good sport, has answered my questions, and has even added functionality to his software, to meet some of my objections. Recently, my adoption of the Google calendar, tasks, contacts, and email management for my firm, has made me much more receptive to the RocketMatter systen, and, while speaking to Larry at LegalTech today, we realized that the Android OS enabled a complete RocketMatter signup on the phone. So, I became the first customer to sign up on my smartphone, and the web browser is so good on Android, that the RocketMatter site is able to be pulled up and used on the phone. I recommend this service to lawyers interested in taking their case management to the web, and will be reporting on my results. Give RocketMatter a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the economy of web case management.

Any insight on the differences between Rocket Matter and Clio? There are way too many options out there right now and no place to find good info on side-by-side comparisons of the various services...

First of all, lots of thanks to Rick for coming on board the Rocket. Still getting over the shock of it, have been walking around in a daze for a while.
IMO both products are great SaaS apps and are taking appropriate security measures to protect your data. I think it comes down to a matter of style and user preference, kinda like Mac vs PC.
You could do a feature-by-feature, blow-by-blow kind of comparison, but the truth of the matter is you need to use the software to see how easily or not easily it will integrate with your practice. Both products offer risk free trial periods of one sort of another, so it's a good way to see if the technology will work for you.
If you have any questions about Rocket Matter and don't want to spend time playing around for starters, we offer demos you can hop on throughout the week.
Just a note: I will be traveling for a bit so it won't be for lack of interest that I don't respond to the thread. Will check in soon.
Thanks James!
