Hands-on with the Firefox browser for Android phones | Android Central.
The alpha version of Fennec can now be downloaded to Android phones, and it looks great. Still a little buggy, it reminds me of the early days of Windows Firefox, when it was an interloper, and was sleek and clean and ran rings around Internet Explorer. Sadly, daddy Firefox became a bloated, feature overkill, slow old man. So, I happily switched to the new kid on the block, Google Chrome, for everyday browsing. Fennec reminds me of the old days, when Firefox was hungry and new and edgy. You'll have to tell your Android phone that you understand the risk of software not from the official Android Store; but, the worst that will happen is that it will crash your phone, and you have to reboot.

All it will do is crash? It seems like if you have to accept crashing as an ancillary byproduct of using it then it might not be such a great alternative.
I realize that you tend to pump your fist for all things that are Android/Google (or more so, all things that AREN'T Apple), you should at least acknowledge that your phone crashing isn't the greatest feature.

David, David. If a beta app crashes, it isn't the end of the world. You just reboot and uninstall it. No biggie. When the final version comes out, you reinstall. I think you need to buy an iPad. Then, you won't have to worry about making all those choices of software, and will be limited to what Apple lets you have. :-)

Well not sure what iPad has to do with this conversation about your Android based phone, other than confirming that you take every chance you can to bash an apple product:)
Just as a disclaimer, I have had two iPhones (1st gen and 3G), went back to Blackberry, now waiting for new Evo to come out on Sprint....I am the phone industries greatest friend when it comes to continual upgrades.
