Judge Reveals Secret Righthaven Copyright Contract - Slashdot. When a Judge removed the confidentiality cloak from the Righthaven - Las Vegas Review Journal contract, assigning the "right to sue" to Righthaven for copyright violations of Review Journal content, it became clear that Righthaven had a problem. Other courts have found that merely assigning the right to sue, without assigning underlying rights and responsibilities, is illegal, and transfers nothing. I suppose that now Righthaven will blame the lawyers who wrote the contract. Isn't that always the way?
