Smarter Tools Fastcase | The Smarter Alternative for Legal Research. I have railed against overpriced legal research for over twenty years. However, since primary case law has been available for free on the Internet, and since Google Scholar made it accessible, I admit that I haven't spent a lot of money searching for primary case law. I like my legal search results plain, simple and unaffected by the opinions of others. I can make my own decisions about the applicability of a case, thank you. However, the paid legal research services who survive will need to provide additional benefits that justify the expense. Fastcase may be on to something with its visualization and data compilation tools. Any good trial lawyer will tell you that pictures and graphs make great tools. What if you could look at a case's history in visual form? Not an editor's opinion; but, a mathematical graph that shows what has happened to a case in the system. I might pay for that. In Florida, our dues pay for access to Florida cases, and for an extra $195 a year, we can get the rest of the country's cases. I think I will give visualization a try. It might just give me a new perspective on legal search results.

Come to VA. Fastcase is free for all courts.
