Windows 8 Promises Fewer Annoying Restarts - Windows - Operating system - Informationweek. Promises, promises. Every new Microsoft OS promises more. Then, it takes forever to get the bugs out. If I have one complaint about Windows, it is that its need to be all things to all people makes it buggier than iOS. Of course, most of us have so much invested in Windows based productivity software that we can't afford a change. And, even if we could, legal vendors have made Microsoft only software for decades. They also have invested in the fact that the vast majority of lawyers use Windows. Don't get me wrong. Microsoft and Windows have many advantages, and the openness of the systems they run on is a big one. And, with Windows 7, most of us haven't had a computer crash in ages. (Hope I didn't just jinx myself_). Windows 8 introduces a whole new way of looking at the interface, and I can't believe it will be completely stable from the beginning. I hope I am wrong. Really.
