When will wearables be wearable? | Cutting Edge - CNET News. Hands are wonderful things; but, couldn't they be put to better use than carrying around our computers? Hand helds like my Droid Bionic or my Samsung Galaxy Nexus have put the power of computers in the palm of my hand. After decades, I can finally practice law out of one of these things. I am in the office wherever I am. I can take phone calls, send emails, run applications, browse the Internet, do legal research, navigate to unknown locations, and much other stuff. However, now that I have all of this power in my hand, all I can think about is how to get it back in my pocket. I can't wait until my Bluetooth enabled wrist watch comes in, in February. With a headset, I will be able to wear my computer on my wrist and take calls and such while keeping my hands free. This post talks about a guy who actually wears his phone on his wrist. Geeky, yes. Practical? Not quite. Yes, I am the guy who wouldn't think twice about becoming cybernetic man. Plant a computer on a chip in my temple, and connect it to my optic nerve. At least, give me a usable heads up display that will fit in my glasses. I hope I live long enough to "see" that.

Might give new meaning to the Blue Screen of Death.
