Regular readers know that I am not much of a fan of speaking personal assistant software. Siri is a cool app; but, I really don't want people around me to hear what I am looking for, or whom I am talking to. I have installed Speaktoit, an Android assistant just to play around; and, while entertaining, I still prefer the built in voice app. I can say "call whomever", or "navigate to wherever", and Android does a fine job. For most texts and emails, I prefer to let my fingers do the typing. Now, however, Speaktoit's developers have brought the software to iPhone, in direct competition with Siri. Do I hear catfight? I wonder if these ladies will talk to each other. Speaktoit can actually do a male character, if the user wants. Gender neutral is a good thing.
