This free app (you get more features if you buy it for $29.95) permits you to use a free VPN at the company's site, so that you are protected from prying eyes at public hotspots. Since I carry my own Internet with me, I haven't tried this; but, if you must use public WiFi, this is certainly an easy choice. Just download and install the software (there are versions for your Android and iPhone devices as well), and you can set it to automatically load when you encounter an unknown network.
