How About A Camera That Is Also A SmartPhone?

AT&T to offer $499 Samsung Galaxy Camera on November 16. We have plenty of modern smart phones that have some serious camera features already. However, serious photographers with single lens reflex cameras in their backgrounds really miss the optical zooms. I have a digital Canon camera that uses all my old EF lenses, and they work fine, with some minor focal length adjustments. My 28mm to 200mm zoom works fine for most situations; but, the camera is large, heavy and bulky. As the saying goes, the best camera for any situation is the one in your pocket or hand. So, a lot of my grab shot photography nowadays is done with my smart phone. However, what if a smart phone had a 21x optical zoom built in, and didn't add a lot of weight or bulk? Samsung is betting that  a lot of us will buy it, and the Galaxy Camera is the answer. This one is worth looking at; but, I don't think anyone but a serious photographer will want to carry it. What do you think?
