Pick Your Poison - iPad Mini versus Nexus 7

Both of the leading small tablets, the iPad Mini and Nexus 7, will be competing head to head this holiday season. However, there is no winner here. In my opinion, the choice will depend on decisions you have probably already made. If you are an iPhone or iPad user who is heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem, you will want the Mini. However, if you are using a Google Android phone or tablet, you will absolutely want the Nexus 7. The Android tablet is $150 cheaper, and has a better screen. However, it lacks a rear camera. My preferences are for the openness of the Android system; but, if you like other Apple products, the thin beautiful Mini will be just your cup of tea. Of course, you will pay for the privilege, as with all Apple products. If you want a down and dirty comparison, this one is the best I have found. If screen quality and system speed are important to you, and you absolutely positively must have an Apple device, you should wait for the Mini2 next year, with a Retina display.
