6 Ways Windows 8 Is More Secure Than Windows 7 - How-To Geek.
I am having a great time with Windows 8. It is fast and snappy. It is also beautiful. Who knew that the Aero interface, with its shadows and transparency, was hogging so much valuable resource space in Windows 7? But, 8 isn't just another pretty face. The code is designed for security, without being obtrusive. Protection from rootkits, and and integrate antivirus is just one way it is more secure than previous Windows versions. It scans .exe files before you run them, to prevent malware from infecting the computer. While my older computer can't run it, new Windows 8 computers come with something called Secure Boot, which limits software running at boot to specially signed and approved software. This prevents rootkit infections. There are many other improvements; but, suffice it to say that Microsoft is finally getting its security act together.
