Australia police discourage use of Apple maps app after rescues | Apple - CNET News.
Australian police are now recommending that Apple users avoid Apple Maps. Apparently, users of the maps application were stranded without food and water in the middle of a national park, some 43 miles from their intended destination. Earlier jibes at Apple's incompetent maps app were humorous. However, the police in Australia are serious about the life threatening consequences of a motorist getting lost in the outback because of inaccurate directions. Suck it up, Apple. Ask Google to license maps back to you. You could get somebody killed.
