Smartwatch shootout: Pebble E-Paper watch vs. the competition | Android | Geek.com.
Pebble is showing off pre-production versions of the coming Pebble Smart Watch at CES 2013. I have pre-ordered one, and can't wait to add it to my watch collection. My collection doesn't have any expensive watches ( I am not Bernard Madoff); but, I have about every digital watch you ever saw. I have watches that measure relative humidity, and all sorts of mechanical and sensor related stuff. I wear a Sony SmartWatch that connects to my phone via BlueTooth. I love the little apps that you can load on it; my favorite is the Camera View app. I can hold or set up my phone, and the watch shows a realtime picture of what I am looking at on the watch. Then, using the camera shutter app, I can take a photo with the watch acting as a remote shutter. The Pebble is more visible in daylight, and the battery lasts longer. I will now have a choice between smart watches each morning. Mr. Madoff's jailers can have his Rolexes, and other expensive analog watches. My motto is all digital, all inexpensive, all the time.
