As a serious amateur photographer, I have replaced my point and shoot cameras with smartphones. I still have a high end SLR in the bag for long shoots which require serious zooming power; but, more and more, smartphone cameras are becoming a realistic substitute for the cameras we used to carry around for grabshots, family functions, and general shooting. Unfortunately, until now, the handling of a thin smartphone, and the requirement to press the screen to take a photo made phone cameras unwieldy. The SnapGrip announced at CES 2013 may change all that. The case looks like any hard case. But, when you attach the grip, you have one handed operation, a shutter button, a zoom button, and a camera like experience. For $99, I want one. Of course, I will have to get my Galaxy SIII back from SWMBO. Wish me luck.
