Why Dogs Are Superior To Cats

Heartbroken dog attends mass daily | Life With Dogs.

Since I am about to be inundated with pictures of cats today (who came up with Caturday, anyway?), I am pre-empting the field, with a Dogurday story about an Italian dog whose loyalty cannot be questioned. Dogs are superior beings to cats in many ways; but, loyalty to their companions is at the top of the list. This German Shepherd (my Raven, God rest her soul, was one, and the best dog I ever shared space with) continues to attend Mass where her companion's funeral was held over a year ago. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against cats. But, have you ever heard of a cat that would do this?

There's room for all of us on the ark. (I won't even mention that a cat would be smart enough to know that the owner, and his catfood, won't be going to mass anymore. So sayeth Basement Cat.)
