Germs In Reusable Grocery Bags Can Prove Deadly.
I have railed, in the past, against the San Francisco nanny state. Now, studies are showing that the ban on plastic bags in San Francisco has caused an increase in E.R. visits for bacterial diseases. The cloth bags that the socially conscious San Franciscans carry to the store (no more choice between paper or plastic) are allegedly carrying dangerous bacteria, and causing illness. In addition, the manufacture of reusable cloth bags uses more resources than the plastic ones, so the politically correct San Francisco Board of Supervisors is actually harming the environment. Unintended consequences, they're a bear. Save our Earth, indeed. If you want to save the earth, use plastic grocery bags.
