SF Launcher Alpha app review.

If the Great Recession taught any lessons, it is that we need to be more frugal in our purchases, and more efficient in our daily lives. Minimizing complexity and automating normal tasks is a good start. This minimalist Android launcher uses Google Now as an influence, and customizes the Android interface to take major advantage of the excellent voice recognition of modern Android smartphones. The screen looks like Google Now, and is awakened by any Voice Command the user chooses. When I press the power button, and say "Google, Wake Up", my phone brings up the Google Now Voice application, and I can direct the phone to do anything I wish. In the old days, it was a struggle to enter location information. Now, I just say the Wake Up command, and say something like: "Google, navigate to (say any address anywhere in the world), and the pleasant female Google voice says: "I will navigate to (says address). It then brings up the default navigation software ( I use and prefer Scout), and I am on my way. The paid version of this app is only $1.99, which I paid gladly. Frugal is my middle name.
