I always preferred the term "Android Market" to describe the Google store; but, after a year with Google Play, I can understand the change. Those of us who use our phones and tablets primarily for work, and for whom play is a diversion, probably would have preferred something like Google Work and Play. But, the proof is in the apps, and music, and movies, and other stuff. And, the Android ecosystem is mature and rich. Google is giving away free stuff at the page in honor of its first birthday today. Head on over and get some.
