Official Blog: How not to get tricked: Your favorite online safety tips. Okay, it is accomplished. Most of us live online in a web browser for 80% or more of our computing lives. Our deepest secrets are stored in a cloud server somewhere, and we use our credit cards, debit cards and our social networks to get things done. But, there are bad people out there, who want to steal our stuff and even our identities. Google has some good ideas for staying safe; and, like deadbolt key locks on a door to your home or office, they can be a pain. But, they are necessary, so read and pay attention. My favorite is also the most annoying: two-step authentication. If you are accessing websites in which you do personal business without requiring a second step of authentication, like a text message to your phone for access, you are playing with fire. You will get burned.
