Google Play Store has banned apps showing ads on your lockscreen | Android and Me. I am generally sanguine about ads on the Internet. I know that ad revenue powers the content delivery that I want on the web; and, I actually like some targeted advertising that is keyed to my interest. Even spam email has a function, and the fact that you can make money advertising on the Internet is one of the reasons for its explosive growth. However, I don't like advertisers that ruin the experience by placing ads intrusively when I haven't opted in. This includes app developers that con you into downloading and installing phone apps that then take over your home screen with popup ads that take you time and eyes without permission. This Play Store rule will help to control such behavior. Thanks, Google.
