Siri vs. Google Assistant and Bixby Voice - CNET. I have Bixby available on my Samsung Note 8, along with Google Assistant. iPhone users can ask Siri to do many things. I have voice assistants on my Amazon Echo Dot devices (Alexa), and Google Assistant is also available on the several Google Home devices I have around the house and office. How many voice assistants does one person need? Why, all of them, of course. They are fun to play with, and to match against each other. They each have strengths and weaknesses. They are improving every day. I am having fun asking the same questions of each, and comparing the results. So, depending on the task or whim, I can access any of them wherever I am. Google Assistant, however, sometimes competes with itself. In my home office, if I say "OK Google" my Google Home device might answer the question, even though it is picked up by my phone microphone. Now that I can say: "Hey, Google", however, I can go straight to the home device. I can get the news from my Amazon Echo Show on my desk, or from Bixby on the Note 8, or from Google Assistant on the Google Home device. A voice assistant for every mood. Pick your poison.
