How to Become a Data-Driven Lawyer - Clio. Hey, Clio! I don't want to be a data driven lawyer! I want to have a life, and my law practice is full of clients, and counseling, and lawyering. Seriously, I can figure out how to bill more hours if I want to. I know how much money is in the bank account, and a solo practice allows me to be acutely aware of which clients are and aren't paying on time. I log my time and bill using the computer, and I use the computer all the time to do my work. I certainly don't want to spend my time analyzing data about my usage or my hours. For a larger firm, with more than one lawyer to keep track of, I get it. But, one of the reasons I have stayed solo (other than that I don't play well with others) is that I don't have to do the stuff you refer to in this article. If you love creating spreadsheets and analyzing data, more power to you. I am going to go to the movies this afternoon. Jeez.
