Learning From Bad Examples. I read a post this morning in which a prospective patient refused to remain for a Doctor's appointment because she disagreed with the political views of the TV station the Doctor required in the waiting room. Recently, statues have been removed from public places because the modern viewers disagreed with the actions or politics of the persons honored. The irrelevance of statues and awards notwithstanding, it is a Stoic principle that the idea is the important thing; not the personality or other actions of the person who voices it. Wisdom doesn't always come from the mouth of someone we like or respect. And, getting angry because of who the teacher is, is just wrongheaded.
