Recent advances in bot AI have created a new hotbed of tech discussion, around the concept that, if your AIBot is calling around making restaurant reservations and haircut appointments, it should ID itself as a bot. After thinking about it, I disagree, and apparently so does the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Should it be a law that your secretary or employee identify themselves when they call on your behalf? Sure, it happens. But, seriously, a law? For the same reason, canceling a date, which is a social contract, is not a breach of contract justifying a lawsuit. Who cares who calls and makes an appointment for me? I want one of these bots. I want one that pretends to be me and goes to my mother in law's house for me. I want one that calls my enemies and tells them where to put it. I want one that...well, you get the picture.
