When the IPhone comes out on June 29th, it is expected that many
thousands will fly off the shelves. The touch screen interface looks so
cool that I have wondered whether it may be worth a look. The lack of a
3G Internet connection, it uses a much slower service, and the lack of
a keyboard concerned me. It appears that the on-screen keyboard is
being panned by some pretty heavy hitters, including John Dvorak. The
video I posted the other day shows the keyboard being used with
alacrity by a demonstrator. Is this true? Before you buy one of these,
spend some time playing with the keyboard, and see whether you can live
with email and web browsing that is 4 times slower than Verizon and
Sprint 3G.
