Windows Live Messenger

Link: Windows Live Messenger. Microsoft has gone "live" with "Live", and the world will never be the same. I am still using Skype, in its new incarnation, the final version 2.5. Skype works, and works well; however, I will be testing "Live", and will let you know how it works. The interface is clean, and it is free. Skype's acquisition by EBay has removed its patina of the little guy fighting the monster software company. It remains to be seen whether Messenger will insinuate itself into the taskbar, and, like a bad guest, refuse to go. The old version was really annoying.  The Microsoft/Google/EBay/Yahoo battle for the hearts and minds of the Internet consumer is just getting interesting.
