France security experts are advising French security officials (now, there is a contradiction in terms) to avoid using BlackBerrys, because traffic passes through servers in Canada and the U.S., and the NSA might snoop on the conversations. I never thought I would have a good word to say about the BlackBerry mothership system, but spying on the French is certainly a good reason. Now, if there were any chance that the French might ever do anything that deserved spying on... Oh, well. Perhaps the French would be better advised to concentrate on wine and cheese making, before California takes over that business too.
