Vista, while certainly plauged with issues, is more a victim of bad press than anything else (at this point). If MS hadn't bowed out to pressure from Intel and kept it a true 64bit OS, and not tried to make every printer and monitor made in the last 15 years work, then the problems would have been minimal.
