Fired Engineer Tried To Wipe Out All Fannie Mae Computers | Techdirt. This story, about a fired engineer who planted a logic bomb in the Fannie Mae computers in an attempt to destroy the data, should be a cautionary tale for attorneys who depend on employees to perform mission critical work on law firm computers. I am probably preaching to the choir in this post, as my readers tend to be tech aware and knowledgeable in their own right. However, you need to be hands on with the law firm computer systems, and you need to be aware of internal security as well as external security. Which of your employees has administrative access to your systems? Do you even know what administrator access is? If you terminate an employee who has access to your computers, don't let them hang around for three weeks training their replacement. Duh.
