Lifehacker - Stay Focused with a Motivational Wallpaper - Wallpaper. I have never been a fan of motivational wall art; you know the ones. They all have a beautiful sunrise or sunset background, with a pithy statement or word printed in big letters to remind you what a drudge you are, and how you should be thinking positively and motivating yourself. Frankly, if I need external motivation, I will spend some time in a room with She Who Must Be Obeyed. She has a knack of motivating me to do useful tasks, such as "Do This Now", or "Do That Soon", or "Are You Really Going To Wear That?" Now, we are told that we need to put nagging reminders of our deficiencies on our computer desktop. I have an idea. Let's not.

I was amused at a catalog for those posters that showed, in a row, shots of a rugby game, bicycle race and sailboat race as motivational inspiration. I've done all three. Which raises the question -- do I not need motivation? I already know the answer to the question of whether I participate in oddball sports.
