Hey HTC Android Tablet, Let Me Introduce You To The Garbage Can | Android Phone Fans. I have always been pretty negative about tablet computing. At least the kind that is the size of a notebook computer. Will the new tablet coming from Apple this week change my mind? I doubt it. I expect the thing to be a giant iPhone like device. Hey, it will be pretty, but where do I put it? I can put an iPhone or iPod Touch or Droid in my pocket, and carry it around. I already have a notebook computer that fits in my briefcase. And, now, Apple wants me to add ANOTHER device to the mix? I don't think so. HTC is biting the bullet early, with its dropping of the Android tablet before it even gets here. Really, the new phones have big, beautiful screens, and I have no problem web browsing or email or ebook reading on them. Maybe these new tablets will find a niche in the over 70 market? You know, like the phones with the extra large buttons for aging eyes. I could be wrong about this; but, I don't think so. If I am, you will never hear me say I'm sorry. Isn't that what love means?
I dunno - if they get to be the lightweight, touch-interface, full-on computer tablets, just like in Star Trek, I think I'll have to have one.
Right now, we're in the tablet development stage comparable to those early briefcase-sized cell phones. They'll get smaller, lighter and more powerful, eventually.
This is why I like the Kindle - about the right size and weight and has a great battery. Just needs to be an actual computer, have touch-interface and in color. Sigh.
