DROID Makes Political Debut, Gets Aide Fired - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog. Our Florida Governor's race is in the news again; this time, because a candidate in the debate was texted a tip during the debate on a Droid. The only problem is that the text wasn't allowed under debate rules. The Republican candidate called the Droid an iPod, which makes me wonder about him, too. At least, CNN got it right, identifying the offending device as a "Droid Smartphone". Sigh. Political season. Don't you just love it?
