Do you know where your data resides? Can you call it up anytime? Who has access to your most secure data? Are you doing backup to local drives, kept offsite? Are you using the cloud for backup? Have you investigated the security at the remote host? If you don't know the answers to these questions, you need to do a security assessment, and take some preventive action.
