Apple Promises Fix for Location-Gathering %u2018Bug%u2019 on iPhone | Gadget Lab | Wired.com. While most of us out here in pundit land realized that the IPhone location storing tempest belonged in a tea pot, the mainstream media and Congressmen with nothing better to do were raising such a storm of protest that Apple finally had to get in front of the maelstrom. So, in an announcement that is reminiscent of the great antenna fiasco, announced today that the cause of the location storing was not an intentional act, but a "bug" in the software. This reminds me of the old days; when computers were in their infancy, and something didn't work, the software company always claimed that the offending activity was actually a "feature" of the software, and not some negligent coding on its part. I suppose it is human to try to shift blame for a problem; however, Apple has raised the practice to an art form. Oh well.
