Will your mom and dad bother with Google ? | Technically Incorrect - CNET News. This is an interesting take on the new Google Plus phenomenon. It posits various theories about whether Google Plus will be competitive with Facebook by discussing its possible use by Mom, Dad and middle America. My opinion is very different. I agree that those of us using it now are not the typical computer user. We are techies, blogging professionals, and computer veterans. However, it should be instructive that there is already a hack that allows Facebook users to create circles. Millions of us have grown up with Google Apps. Most of us use Google search every day. Google's advantage is that it does so much more than Facebook. Those of us who live in the Googleverse have used Facebook like a separate part of our computing lives, a diversion from our Google computing. Now, we can integrate that social and professional contact experience and conversation into the Googleverse. This discussion isn't about Google Plus versus Facebook. This is about social media for the Googleverse. Frankly, Facebook will still be the place that many people go for their connections. Google Plus will siphon back millions of Google citizens who never wanted to leave in the first place. Google has its Mojo back. Google On.
