Amazon's Android Tablet Expected This Fall - Slashdot. In case you thought that the Android tablet market was going away, think again. Once the largest online retailer in the world gets in the game, the iPad will become a niche product, just like its other products. Of course, Apple makes billions anyway, so they don't really care; but, it is nice to have competition out there, isn't it? The success of the Kindle bodes well for a tablet by Amazon. Mixing Amazon's Android Market makes sense, and it is clear that Android tablets will be around for the long term.
Really, Rick? The iPod is a niche product? Not the leading music player?
I must be reading different statistics.

I did say "will become". Even though they earn billions, Apple's computer line is a "niche" product, when compared to Windows based PCs. I guess it all depends on the meaning of "niche".:-)
