The Neat Company - Neat Desk : PDF Creator Software : Receipt Organize : OCR : neat.com. I have seen some law bloggers lately touting the Fuji scanner as best for the law office. However, for around $100 cheaper, I have the Neat Desk Scanner both at home and the office, and it works great. I scan just about everything, it has saved me countless hours finding documents, and I hardly ever use the copy machine anymore. You can get these on sale at the big box stores for as little as $379. Unlike some of the other bloggers, I like the document feeder. It has slots for small thin stuff like receipts and business cards, and will hold up to 25 sheets of regular sized paper for automated scanning. I don't like the NeatDesk software, however, as it is slow and clunky, and use PaperPort Deluxe 14 instead. PaperPort uses a Windows style folder structure that I am very comfortable with. I make folders for everything. Oh, and another thing. If you get into the habit of scanning all of your receipts, you will find that you spend less. Just looking at the money go out as I am scanning makes my brain scream no mas.
It may be inconsequential, but Fuji doesn't produce scanners. I think the scanners in question were manufactured by Fujitsu.

My bad. :-) My opinion stands, however. The Neat Desktop Scanner is far superior to the scanner NOT produced by Fuji, and is a little better, in my opinion, than the one that IS produced by Fujitsu. :-)

This scanner perfectly fits for a lawyer like you, Richard! Neat Desk Scanner is highly recognized by IRS (Internal Revenue Services) a revenue service of the United States federal government. In this connection, it’ll be easy for you to report your expenses through a few clicks rather than sorting your endless load of receipts.
