Apple v. Samsung: What to expect in federal court - Post Tech - The Washington Post. It is about to get ugly. The Apple versus Samsung trial is getting underway today, and will last 2-3 weeks. In my experience, trials usually last longer than we think, and this one should be no exception. However, whichever way the jury goes, you can bet that this one will go on much longer, as appeals are certain. Unless, of course, rational people at both companies figure out a way to cross license patents, and get on with trying to make the best product. In my experience, that almost never happens either. If the world were a place where rational, kind, and reasonable persons walked the paths, I would be out of business.
