Bloomberg announces anti-tobacco legislation - New York News | NYC Breaking News.
Putting tobacco under the counter is certainly going to reduce tobacco use in the big Apple, Mayor Bloomberg. Your ban on large, sugary drinks certainly had a big effect on obesity in America, after all. I am amused by control freaks like the Mayor who think they can adjust human behavior by passing laws and ordinances. In fact, I remember the salutary effect that putting girlie magazines under the counter had when I was a teenager. I immediately assumed that, since they were kept under the counter, I should stay away from them. I had absolutely no interest in photos of beautiful women after that. Wow, thanks Mayor Bloomberg for your efforts to protect our innocent youth from the dangers of over the counter tobacco use. I have a modest proposal, Mr. Mayor. How about we ban all politicians from ever proposing legislation without the prior written approval of an arbitration panel appointed by three citizens from another jurisdiction? I think all that money has damaged some of Mayor Bloomberg's brain cells. Something isn't working properly in there.
