The Lawyers Are Always Nervous

They discuss what the company lawyers will think, and they ponder that the lawyers are always nervous. I wonder why? Could it be that it is next to impossible these days to predict legal outcomes from fact patterns? Everything I do every day is a judgment call, it seems, and, if my judgment turns out to be wrong, it somehow is blamed on me. I know, that is the lawyer's job; but, we don't create bad fact patterns. Clients do. And you wonder why the lawyers are always nervous? It's a dirty job; but, somebody has to do it.
