Execupundit.com: Quote of the Day. Execupundit highlights the Disraeli quote today: "Talk to a man about himself and he will listen for hours." My favorite self improvement author, Dale Carnegie, built an industry around the idea that we are all most interested in ourselves. He taught salesmen, and other professionals, that sincere interest in another is the surest way to their heart. However, the typical politician's talk, even if it is directed at the audience's favorite subject, falls flat if it is insincere. Each of us has the ability to listen to a politician and know, instinctively, if they are genuine. We get into trouble when we don't listen to that intuition. So, today, make it a point to become genuinely interested in others. It will make your own problems fade into the background, and you will find a willing, enthusiastic audience.
