Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 leaks with faux leather backing, huge 7-inch display. I am going to have to modify my blog categories. I have a Category called mobile computing. Is a 7 inch phoneblet mobile? You can't put it in your pocket, unless you have very big pockets. On the one hand, I would rather have two devices than try to fit a tablet into a phone or some hybrid. And, then, we have the coming watch phone. I am getting dizzy. Or, maybe the dizziness is caused by the phone and tablet that is fitted into the rim of my glasses. Golly gee oh my. I am perfectly happy with my Three Bears theory of computing. A smart watch on my arm (Baby Bear), a 5.7 inch phone in my pocket (Mama Bear), and a 7 inch tablet in my hands or in my briefcase. (Papa Bear). Convergence is nice until the form factor gets in the way. How do you compute?

Why I Am A Solo - On Saturday Morning

Good morning. Every day can be a work day for a solo practitioner. However, most days, I don't mind. I concentrate on how lucky I am. I don't have to go to an office filled with other people who scurry around worrying about their job security. I can't be fired. I get to be who I am every day, a lawyer. I think about my favorite solo practitioner, Atticus Finch, whose life was filled with pain; but, who did what he loved with passion and integrity. Today, I get to be a lawyer again, and nobody can tell me to go home.

I Was Wrong...Get Over It

However, when I wrote a post in 2008 that practicing lawyers didn't need Twitter, I was wrong. The social and public discourse that has resulted from Twitter use is invaluable; and, not just for citizenry fighting oppressive regimes and getting the word out in a disaster. Kevin O'Keefe is a lawyer's visionary, and he saw the utility of Twitter and social media for lawyers before anyone else. Kevin, you were right. I was wrong. Now, everybody, just get over it.

Samsung unveils the Simband, but you can't buy it - GadgeTell | TechnologyTell. If you thought that the Tricorder was science fiction, watch out. Because science fiction is rapidly becoming science fact. The Simband isn't available yet; but, I can see all sorts of uses for this thing in hospitals and on patients' wrists. No more huge panels connected to a hospital bed and wires. Just strap on a Simband, and your vitals are tracked automatically with a constant readout. As the technology becomes smaller, these sorts of devices will be everywhere. The only thing Dr. McCoy got wrong is that you won't have just one tricorder that you point at the patient. The patient will wear the tricorder on his or her wrist. Welcome to the future.

Invasion Of The Phoneblets

Samsung's 7-inch 'phoneblet' makes its way to the FCC | Android Central.
You read that right. There is a new toy in town. Samsung is readying a 7 inch phone/tablet that is affectionately known as the Galaxy Mega 2. Can you say phoneblet? A honking big phone that doubles as a  7 inch tablet? I now carry a Note 3 that is 5.6 inches, and a Nexus 7 tablet that is 7 inches. I can still bring the Note 3 to my ear for a call without drawing a crowd. But, a 7 inch tablet? I don't think so. That would mandate a bluetooth earset that I would have to wear all the time. I prefer to take or reject calls on the SmartWatch, and, if I need privacy, transfer them to the phone. But, I will keep an open mind. The FutureLawyer never met a gadget he didn't like.
